Football
For many supporters, following Manchester United begins in front of a television.
For MUSCN, it did not stay there.
Over the years, football itself has become an important part of the supporters' club experience.
Supporters who normally stood beside each other watching United began stepping onto the pitch together.
In 2018, that idea reached an international Manchester United initiative.
Nepal became one of the stops on DHL's UNITED. DELIVERED. Global Football Tour, which brought a special football connected to Manchester United supporters around the world.
MUSCN supporters gathered in Nepal for a friendly match using the tour ball. DHL reported that much of the official supporters' club attended and that the match received coverage from a local television station. (DHL InMotion)
The experience showed how football could make the connection with Manchester United feel a little closer despite the enormous distance between Kathmandu and Old Trafford.
That playing culture continued.
By December 2021, MUSCN was publicly inviting supporters to participate in weekly Saturday futsal sessions. (Facebook)
The idea was simple.
Come play football.
Meet other United supporters.
Have fun.
And become part of the team.
By 2026, MUSCN's football activity had progressed to organized supporter competition.
Manchester United Supporters Club Nepal registered a 15 player squad for the ERN Supporters League alongside teams representing Liverpool, Real Madrid and other supporter communities. (EPL RAMA Nepal)
The competition produced some memorable results.
MUSCN defeated Chelsea Nepal 5 to 2. (YouTube)
They also recorded a 6 to 4 victory against Real Madrid Fans Club Nepal. (YouTube)
There were defeats too, including a 5 to 3 match against Liverpool Fans Nepal. (YouTube)
But results are only part of the story.
The bigger achievement is having supporters who once connected through Manchester United now playing together under the MUSCN name.
Watching football created the community.
Playing football helped strengthen it.
