Supporting Manchester United may be what brings MUSCN members together, but the community has never needed to stop at football.
Over the years, supporters in Nepal have also used their shared platform to contribute to causes beyond the game.
One example came in August 2021.
MUSC Nepal's Western Chapter visited Nepal Differently Abled Ashram in Butwal and distributed food and a ceiling fan to residents of the centre. MUSCN shared the activity publicly with a simple message encouraging people to do good. (Facebook)
It was not a football tournament.
There were no points to win and no final score.
It was simply supporters using their community to help another community.
That spirit can also be seen in MUSCN's earlier activities.
The 2018 Football Fans Festival combined football entertainment with blood donation and charity activities, allowing supporters to enjoy the day while also contributing to something meaningful. (Goal Nepal)
MUSCN has also been part of a wider culture of football supporter collaboration in Nepal.
A 2018 report on Nepal's official Premier League fan clubs documented how supporter groups had organized charity initiatives alongside screenings and futsal competitions. One such collaborative project, "Momo for a Change", helped street children through food and warm clothing. (OnlineKhabar)
That project involved Nepal's wider supporter community rather than MUSCN alone, but it illustrates the environment in which these clubs were growing.
Football creates an easy reason for people to gather.
What those people choose to do once they have gathered is what gives a community its character.
For MUSCN, community activity has become one way of showing that being United can mean something beyond supporting the team.
It can mean showing up for others.
It can mean giving time.
It can mean contributing where possible.
And it can mean using a shared love of football to create a positive impact at home in Nepal.
